Happy Leap Year Day!
Happy Birthday to any Leap Year babies reading my blog! I hope you're partying it up since you won't get to have another birthday until the year 2012.
Leap Year actually has an interesting history. I won't bore you with the details because I don't feel like re-typing them "in my own words." You can do a simple search online or you can follow my link to find out more.
Did you know there's an Honor Society of Leap Year Day Babies? I didn't... Did you also know that most states make Leap Year Babies choose between February 28th or March 1 for their birthday since February 29th is not a recognized day? So, which month would you pick, Feb. or Mar.?
So, here's my thought. February 29th is an extra day that we're getting right? But it happens to fall on a Friday. So we're all going to work. Essentially, we're working this day for free. ...since salaries are based on a 2080 hr/year, not 2088. So, if you're not an hourly employee, I say take the day off and go party!
