Making the world go 'round

When my husband started his own business I signed up for a "Small Business" class at our local community college to get a feel for what we were getting into.

I quickly learned what the main qualities of an entrepreneur are:

*Inner drive to succeed
*Leadership
*Confidence
*Energetic
*Risk Taker
*Creative & Innovative
*Knowledgeable in a specialized field
*Accepting of constructive criticism and rejection
*Organized

My Hubby is a typical entrepreneur.  I am not.

The book for this class was very well written.  Throughout the chapters, the authors interjected all these success stories.  They ranged from Dell computers to the "fresh feeder."

Every time I read a new story I was both fascinated and envious.  Why didn't I come up with that idea?  It seemed so simple!  Why wasn't I that creative?  How come I didn't think to charge people for putting a TV in the elevator (and now at the gas pump - HAVE YOU SEEN THOSE?!).

Oh, and did I mention hateful too?!@()&*  Don't even get me started...  lol.

I actually ended up dropping the class because I couldn't stand reading about all the people and their success stories.

But, to continue my point, I was watching TV one night recently and I saw a commercial for this product, Edible Arrangements.  When I saw it, the first thing I thought was, no one would pay $65 to buy fruit on sticks!  But see, that's where I'm wrong; cause they would and they do!!

By their web page, it appears they are very successful.  They have 811 stores and counting!

A couple of days after I saw the commercial, I saw one of their trucks out on the street!  They actually have a location right in my area!

I will spend my life trying to think of a "good idea" while others are out there thinking of new ideas every day and implementing them.  What a sad thought.  I feel like such a lemming.
