This is my Fun Monday Wordzzle post.

A Silly BedtimeStoryHaiku About Raising Teenagers
There once was a mom
who lived in a boat. She had
seven teenagers.
No meat and no milk.
So she gave them some soup full
of noodles to eat.
With some stale biscuits
to sustain their bellies, thus
she sent them to bed.
But the teenagers
were rowdy. Together they
slipped in their mom's tea
Lots of tequila.
Becoming lethargic, she
fell soundly asleep.
Turning the doorknob
The rowdy teenagers were
free to roam the town.
Or so they thought 'til
they realized that they were
living in a boat.
Ostrich, the eldest,
looked through the periscope. There
was no land in sight.
They had to settle
for a DVD, the most
recent story by
R. L. Stine. Goosebumps,
Cry of the Cat. This was no
bedtime story though.
So, frozen with freight
the teenagers' youngest cried
throughout the whole night.
No kid magazine
would do the trick. The crying
awoke their mother.
Hung over 'n mad
she beat each with wet noodles
and sent them to bed.
Never again did
those teens misbehave... Yeah right,
Wouldn't that be nice?
Perhaps this is a cautionary tale of what not to do while raising teens?!
I hope you had fun writing your posts. Can't wait to read all your great stories.
In case you're wondering, this is an inspiration by Raven's Saturday Wordzzle Challenge. I just mixed it up a bit.
Happy writing and don't forget to sign up to Mr. Linky and to read each other's posts!

iPost at Nine Acres is the hostess for next week - she'll have the details up by Wednesday.
The assignment:
Your job is to write a story (true or made-up), poem, song, letter... whatever strikes you ABOUT one of the three themes. You must INCLUDE all 10 words. Wild cards words may be used in addition to or in place of the main 10 words.
A couple of tricks to this are: If you get stuck on a word use it as a title for something or a name. You may use any derivation of the word or put words together. Your imagination is the limit.
Themes to choose from:

Here is a short example of what you should do.
I love to be in the garden in the fall. I harvest all the fresh veggies to make soups. My neighbor's cats, Goosebumps, Ostrich, and Jedi Knight love to come over and visit. In the cool evenings, I go out with a glass of tequila and some old magazines. As I pull out the fresh veggies, I lay down the shredded old magazines for mulch. Then I toss noodles, biscuits and any other left overs in the composter for next year. I have to be careful with the booze though. One day I got so lethargic I could barely turn the doorknob to get back in the house. I didn't see the humor in that until much later.

I loved how the kids slipped the tequila into your tea. Adding the haiku element seems very challenging! Great job!

Drat, drat and double drat. I forgot all about this until just now. It has been one of those strange days with lots of distractions and time eaters. I'll see if I can come up with something before the clock strikes midnight. My apologies.

I did it! May not be great, but it's done! I think I forgot to say that I enjoyed your poem last time through. I was too busy worrying about whether I could come up with something to post myself. I enjoyed this. Thanks.
