Transformation

OOh, gooey and slimy; cold and gooshy.

And now the fun begins...

The final product - my favorite part.
One of my favorite things to do for Halloween is to carve pumpkins! I love every part of this activity. I used to carve pumpkins for office contests and we always won pizza for the office.
I'm loving it now that BG can participate in the fun AND understand the process.

BTW, I'm planning a HUGE blog party. The details will be finalized in the next week or so.
I hope you'll come back to join in the fun! I guarantee you'll have a blast!
Happy Wednesday!

I love prep-focused photo series. They're the ones I remember most from my own childhood!
And, let's face it, pumpkin guts are so cool! It's always a treat when you get to scoop 'em out.

In Scotland we made lanterns out of turnips (rutabagas). It was a lot of work because they're solid and very, very hard! Pumpkins are much easier to carve -- and they're pre-hollowed!

Noooo, Carmi... no no nooooo! Pumpkin guts are not cool. They're sticky and slimy and a necessary evil to be endured in order to achieve the desired end. Blech! *shudder* I play along each year because I like to create. But I do not like the process.
I posted last year's jack-o-lanterns for my WW this week. I'll post this year's next week. I hope.

I love to carve pumpkins too! In fact, I usually push my kids out of the way to finish theirs! lol
Sometimes.
But that makes me sound like a bad person, doesn't it?
lol

We love Halloween over here in England.
The children dress up and we do apple bobbing and turn all the lights out trying to scare each other.
My children don't go out trick or treating (they're too young) but they love it when we get that knock on the door and love the surprise of seeing who is standing on the other side when we open it!

You're good at doing that. I think it´s so messy... bought two small ones yesterday, but they were hard as rocks...
