Bright Little Gourd

I'm not exactly sure why I like this picture. It was taken by my friend Ma on the ride back from the pumpkin patch where we attempted to take fall pictures of the kids (I was driving). We weren't very successful with the pictures but the kids enjoyed the slides and the moon bounce there so it was not a wasted trip.
There's something about the way she's holding that little gourd that is striking. She was watching a DVD in the car at the time so she wasn't even paying attention to the gourd. Yet, she didn't put it down or place it in her lap. She just held it there, in mid air. That's gotta mean something right?

It's a cute picture of her little hand clinging to the little pumpkin gourd. Even though she's watching the DVD I think it's nice she hasn't forgotten about it and wants to hold it. A reminder of the day maybe.

I LOVE odd, random shots like this. They're always some of my very favorites. I just love that chubby little hand wrapped around that bright little pumpkin!

Great shot! It looks kind of like one of those black and white pictures that have one colour... but it's not. Very cool.

I like the hand around the pumpkin, the shape of the fingers in synch with the shape within the pumpkin. They fit each other. Sweet.

kids do have a tendency to hold things so firmly for so long, not even realizing what they are doing. i bet it is comforting on some level.

I love it when I catch one of mine doing that. You know they have something that they are really attached to when it doesn't even go to their lap.

The picture is interesting, makes you wonder if her little arm ever got tired just holding it in place.
