Reality Bites
I know you're all not used to any deep thought going on here on Fridays... So, fasten your seat belts.
I've been reading/watching the news about Jon and Kate Plus Eight and I can't help but think how much worse the media is making an already crappy situation.
I've been married for over 10 years. I know what marriage is like... I also know that having kids in a marriage is NOT EASY! In fact, it only makes it harder! I can't imagine adding fame to the mix!
Rough patches happen in marriage, no matter who the mean partner or who the push-over is... But to get through it you need SUPPORT, not bashing and ridicule; not lies and conjecture.
I cannot possibly imagine having eight kids. I cannot imagine being on TV all the time. And I cannot imagine having my marriage dissected by anyone who can put fingers to a keyboard (pen to paper).
I don't know what the answer is and I am not offering them any advice. Because I am not in their situation and I have no idea what they're going through. What I can offer though is support. It doesn't matter who I think is right or wrong; who cheated on whom, or who is more deserving. What matters is their marriage; their relationship with each other. They are the ones who have to wake up to each other every morning and look in the mirror and live with their decisions. I hope they will make good decisions, despite the media and their audience.
This situation reminds me of The Truman Show. It's like they've suddenly woken up and realized that there is something wrong with their world. That they no longer belong in it. Up until now, they've been living in this dream world and it's all been hunky-dory, but now, hunky is mad at dory and dory is no longer so hunky!
Perhaps it's time to walk away and save their marriage before it's too late. Would you agree?
Check out a great post about J&K+8 here.

I totally agree!
Although it's a little stressing watching them on tv with that situation.. and I actually don't understand why they let the media to expose their lives.. well, maybe for fame and entertainment.. and money? for their children I suppose.
But since we're all been attached to them, we sympathize for them.. then let's just continue supporting them, and their marriage.
Their marriage still have chance to be saved. And yes, they need everyone's support for that. It's not easy when you're going through this kind of marriage crisis, and they need a marriage help. And I also agree that media's just making their problem even worse. Although it's a reality show, but it's their personal lives, and everyone's eyes are on it. But I do hope their marriage gets better though.
