The Wrong End

Perhaps I knocked something back into place... Nothing else seems to be wrong. So for now, I'll take it.
I was walking around here just looking for stuff to photograph and this crazy looking bug landed near me. I took the picture as fast I could before it flew away. It wasn't moving so I just kept snapping. I was above it but I didn't want to scare it away so I took pictures of the end that was closest to me.
It wasn't until it started to walk away (ok, run away really) that I realized I'd gotten a photo of...

I've done some searching and I thought it was a Colorado Potato Beetle (CPB ), however, the CPB does not have a tail and I was not in Colorado (I don't know how relevant that really is with bugs).
Ironically, when I was taking these pictures, I thought of Lisa's blog since she always has really cool pictures of bugs on it... maybe someone can identify this bug for me?

Too funny! At first I thought it was some kind of snail with green nodes. Sounds like the kind of pictures I normally take!

I can't help you with identifying it, but despite it being a wee bit gross, the pics are fantastic! lol
