A Useful Savings Tip

Do you remember this post?  Read the last point at the bottom about my meds...

Well, I did manage to get my doctor to switch me to the brand name versus the generic.  Let me tell you, it made a world of difference.

I'm not sure why "they" think the generic is okay - but it's not.  Something in the way they change the composition to make it generic was simply not mixing well with my chemistry.

Have you had this same problem?  Check out what I found!

LoestrinFE is now offering a savings card for anyone with or without insurance.  If you don't have insurance, you will only pay $24 for your monthly prescription of LoestrinFE.  If you do have insurance but your co-pay is higher than $24, you will pay no more than $24 by  using this card.  Pretty neat huh?

The card is good for 12 refills - the only catch is you have to take it into the pharmacy each time you refill.  But that's not so bad if you consider the savings.  For me that's a savings of almost $400 a year, no joke!  Because most insurance companies now won't pay for the name brand - it's their ploy to push generic, substandard drugs onto the public - but, alas, don't get me started on that, please!!

(Oh, one more thing, it's for US residents only  - sorry Canada).

So, talk to your doctor about getting a hold of this card.  Perhaps other contraceptives have the same program.

You know how I feel about legalized drug trafficking, but I think this one is important!

Have a fabulous weekend!
