Couch Potatoes are Stunned
Rumor has it that "television viewers were stunned by [Apo/lo Anton Oh/no's] apparently lackadaisical approach to the race, which would determine whether he would become the Winter Olympian with the most medals in US history (He did, with a bronze) [when he yawned] seconds before "the biggest moment of his career."
Seriously? Television viewers were stunned?!
This is the Olympics, right? The most amazing people in the world competing against each other. The most physically fit people in their class/gender/age group/sport that will ever be who are at the top of their game and in the prime of their lives... And television viewers were stunned?!
This is why I don't follow the Olympics. Because it's become a morass of innuendo and intrigue and BS instead of the respectable and honored event that it was intended to be.
I find it very deplorable that the media can bend anything out of shape so far that it no longer resembles the truth, if ever so slightly.

I so agree with you. Those superb athletes worked years achieving their status and then get blasted by media bigmouths. That's just wrong.

I agree that much of the coverage detracts from the event. Still I enjoy watching, because it is such a wonderful meeting of talented athletes.

I saw something about that on Yahoo.com and didn't even click on that. Don't they have better things to talk about?

The media tries to fuel a fire on controversy. Can't they be nice? Shame on them.

The media can (and often does) bend things out of shape.

Love your post. What people make a fuss over is their own idiocy. See the big picture.
